Our Trip to Richmond

Lee and I were able to get away to Richmond this weekend to take a little break from running Saturday errands. It was a good time. Lee and I went to a movie together for the first time since my first trimester of pregnancy. We saw Horton hears a who. It was pretty cute. Then we spent the rest of the most beautiful weekend outside park hopping, jogging, enjoying our time away. The weather was perfect and Kenzie loved being at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was great.

Another case of "Daddy lets me do it."

We had a few friends over for Lee's Birthday. While I was busy cutting and serving cake, Lee was busy pumping our daughter full of sugar. I look over and she is sucking back a Fresca. Good thing it's actually sugar free, and good thing the can was actually empty.

Curse of the large mouth/tongue

So if anyone knows me well enough they know that I have an enormous mouth and tounge. I don't know why, it's just always been that way. While Makenzie seems to have inherited most of Lee's genes (she looks just like him) it am privaleged to find out that she has my long tounge and big mouth. The better for sticking in stuff you would never think would fit, like an entire contact case and a huge person spoon. Lately Kenzie has been going Ahh and sticking out her tounge it is hilarious, she will do well at the dentist someday. I thought we needed to get a family picture of our mouths. Althought Kenzie isn't sticking out her tongue nearly as far as she can, this was the best we could capture. Doesn't Lee look like a Santo in this picture! HA!

Look at the Curls and the Tooth

Makenzie's hair has always been a bit wild and it continues to get wilder. Now it is getting curly and she won't let us put anything in it so it just continues to become a curly mop, sometimes it can be cute though. So in addition to her curly mop she has a snaggle tooth, she is our snaggle tooth raggamuffin baby, but she is still as happy as ever.

Does the East Coast have anything to offer?

So I have this favorite salad dressing. It is the best in the world. So tastey, makes all salads way better. It is called Bernstein's Cheese and Garlic Italian. I used to buy it all the time when I lived in Utah, so naturally when I got out here I thought I could just buy it here. WRONG!! I have been to every grocery store in the greater Northern Virginia area and guess who carries my salad dressing. No one! So I even looked to see if I could order it on Amazon or directly from the company. You can only buy it by the case. How would I ever use an entire case before it passed the sell by date. So I am stuck, salad dressing less. I even keep an empty bottle in my fridge to remind me of the good times we have had together. If anyone is going to the west coast anytime soon and then coming the east coast will you pick me up a bottle, I will pay you for it. If you have the wonderful chance of having it at your local grocery store, I suggest you buy a bottle and savor it, it is truly wonderful.

Who can sleep like this?

So now that Makenzie has learned to sit up from a lying down position we are in trouble. The other night when she went to bed she just kept whimpering like she didn't want to go down, when she finally did stop crying we went to check on her. I am glad we did because this is how she fell asleep. Head on cougar! She probably would have been paralyzed from the waist down when she woke up. Now when she hasn't gone down for a nap I walk in and she is sitting up or playing in the corner of her crib. Now that she can sit up we lowered her crib and realized a whole new saftly hazard, light sockets. So we had to move Kenzie's entire room around just around the one working light socket we have. What can you do?

I'm LOST

So everyone talks about it, I was begining to feel bad that I had no idea what was going on. A friend counseled me to seriously consider watching Lost. The season premiere came on last night and I told her I can't begin to watch it in the middle of season four. So she told me that ABC was streaming all the seasons online, what a great idea. So it began this week. I have watched half of season one and it is great. I just hope ABC keeps them up long enough for me to get completely caught up.
