Top Gun Kenzie

Makenzie is absolutely the hardest baby in the world to bathe. We have tried everything, she stands up she flips around, she is like a dolphin, it is quite dangerous and it takes at least 2 people to bathe her. It is horrible, I dread bath time because it is impossible. So anyway Lee found a new toy that kept her entertained for 1 whole bath time. Aviator sun glasses. Watch out Tom Cruise there is a new Top Gun in town.

A Day at the Park

We love going to our local park, it is quite the hot spot. Plenty of kids around for Makenzie to stalk. She loves swinging and the slides. Well last week we had the great opportunity to go to the park with ALL her friends. They were all swinging at the same time, it was actually pretty cute. Even after all her friends left Makenzie just found other kids to follow around, she would stay at the park all day if I let her.

Richmond

This post is a little late, but I am just getting around to putting pictures on my computer. We took a trip to Richmond about two weeks ago because Dan and Bryn and the girls came for a visit. It was good to see everyone. We were excited for Kenzie to get to play with her cousins. Turns out Makenzie and Jayn needed constant monitoring, a 1 year old and 2 year old still don't quite understand soft etc. It was pretty entertaining. One of my favoriet moments was when Jayn got a hold of the blue pen, we weren't watching her for like 20 seconds, she was sitting right in front of us to, should have known, she got real quiet. Here are some of our favorite pictures from the trip.

Time: 11:59 Cutting it WAY TOO CLOSE

So Lee has been working on taxes on and off for the last few weeks. He informs me today that UT state taxes are due today. He didn't start them until about 10pm tonight, we just sealed the envelope about 4 minutes ago, and he is in the car on the way to the post office right now, it is now 11:59pm. Remind me to buy Turbo Tax next year. P.S Lee just informed me that it was 11:59 when he arrived, "Last person they let in!" Then he gave me a high five, does that call for a celebration? Mostly I am just really tired and think this whole thing could have been avoided.

Baby Loves Disco

I've been looking forward to Baby Loves Disco for a long time. I mean a baby/ parent dance party, what more could you ask for. So we ventured in to D.C. today and let me tell you, driving in D.C. is awful, the place is a zoo, the chances of getting lost are 99 in 100. Anyway we got to the address and we were a little nervous seeing as how it was in probably the worst part of D.C. Lee and I had to park 2 blocks away and I felt a little out of place walking down these streets. Lets just say Lee and I were the minority. So besides the fact that I feared for my life the entire walk there, and the entire walk back, and then some of the drive after that, we had a great time.

At first Kenzie was a little scared, but she slowly warmed up. We got our groove on, tore up the dance floor all three of us, we may even be in the Washington Post. (One of the photographers from the post was taking pictures of us and asked for our names for the newspaper, he told us to keep our eyes out for it in the next couple of weeks.) So maybe we will be famous. So after Kenzie got really comfortable and wanted to explore everything it was time to leave. She screamed when we tried to make her leave, I guess that means she had a great time. She even fell asleep from all the dancing on the way home.

So was it worth the $12 per walking human? Maybe if it were a little closer, in a better area, and a little bigger. But we had a great time and we might make this a twice a year type of deal. If you don't know what Baby Loves Disco is, check it out. There may be one near you, and it is worth trying out, at least just once.

Snoop Dogg and Mormonism? Fact or Fiction?

I don't know what to say about this except, is this for shizzle? P.S when I showed this to Lee he said "if this is true, this is the best day of my life." HA HA! http://cnnentertainment.co.nr/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/04/01

One and Walking

So Makenzie has been holding our fingers for the last week making us walk her around but we aren't even doing anything, she is doing it all on her own but she won't let go of us. So yesterday I put her on her walker and walked to the other side of the room only to turn around and to see her walking toward me. And it wasn't like she took 2 steps and fell over, it was like she walked across the entire room. What the heck? So turns out Makenzie can walk, just like that.

A Very Monkey Birthday

Kenzie celebrated her first birthday and we had a great old time monkeying around. She had a monkey themed party and invited all her little friends. I think she thought it was the best thing ever. When we put the cupcake in front of her, before we could even finish singing happy birthday she had half the thing devoured, no hesitation. She ate it in 3 bites, no joke. It was actually kind of scary. She was on a pretty good sugar high for the rest of the afternoon. It was a lot of fun.
