A Very Monkey Birthday

Kenzie celebrated her first birthday and we had a great old time monkeying around. She had a monkey themed party and invited all her little friends. I think she thought it was the best thing ever. When we put the cupcake in front of her, before we could even finish singing happy birthday she had half the thing devoured, no hesitation. She ate it in 3 bites, no joke. It was actually kind of scary. She was on a pretty good sugar high for the rest of the afternoon. It was a lot of fun.

Cruise anyone?

Anyone who hangs out around me on a regular basis will vouch for me, my sanity is slowly fading. I have been in my apartment for the last year with a baby, no end in sight anytime soon. So I told Lee if he ever wanted to have more children we were going to have to take a tropical vacation first. It's now or never. So I've been doing my research. I hoped to go somewhere this summer but because I prices, and lack of planning it may not happen, so I have skipped ahead to the future. Anyone wanna go on a cruise in January/Februaryish? I know all you Wymounters said in 5 years, I can't wait that long, I may die first. Prices are pretty good, I was thinking Carribean or Bahamas type of deal. Does anyone know anything about cruises, been on one? Have any suggestions? Where should I go, where should I not go? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I figured this is ample time to give people a heads up. If your curious about my finds email me, I'll give you more info.

The Worst Baby Puberty Ever

So Makenzie all of a sudden has started the worst baby puberty ever. I am talking the worst tantrums/screaming I have ever heard. If she doesn't get her way instantaneously, its over. Life for this baby is over as we know it. Last night she was screaming bloody murder so I went in, changed her diaper, and tried to lay her back down. If I hadn't been holding her tighter she would have flailed her way out of my arms. She is so big and strong now and her lungs are quite loud. So after I tried to lay her down, she went nuts. I wish I could describe how nuts she goes. It has been happening if I won't pick her up, if I walk away, with things like toys. What is the deal? What happened to my sweet baby? Does anyone have answers, will this ever stop?

Choking Hazard?

Makenzie has decided that things in pieces can't taste good. I mean why would I cut something up and give it to her when I could leave it in its HUGE natural form. For example, why break apart crackers, why cut up fruit. In fact she won't eat it if it has been altered. So I have just been giving her whole strawberries, she seems to be just fine. The other day in nursery she ate an entire animal cracker in one bite. I guess I should be worried but I am mostly just amazed.

A Visually Pleasing Visit from Danica

We were so happy to see our old friend Danica from BYU. She came down to pay her family a visit but we got to steal her away just long enough for her to shoot some pictures of Makenzie. We had a great time together and Danica does some awesome work. Here are a few pictures of Makenzie. Thanks Danica!! Check out her website at http://danicaphotography.blogspot.com/

Our Trip to Richmond

Lee and I were able to get away to Richmond this weekend to take a little break from running Saturday errands. It was a good time. Lee and I went to a movie together for the first time since my first trimester of pregnancy. We saw Horton hears a who. It was pretty cute. Then we spent the rest of the most beautiful weekend outside park hopping, jogging, enjoying our time away. The weather was perfect and Kenzie loved being at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was great.

Another case of "Daddy lets me do it."

We had a few friends over for Lee's Birthday. While I was busy cutting and serving cake, Lee was busy pumping our daughter full of sugar. I look over and she is sucking back a Fresca. Good thing it's actually sugar free, and good thing the can was actually empty.
