Signs Your child is 2
Makenzie is showing all the signs of being two. She will be so happy, laughing, singing one minute, the next she is freaking out hysterical etc. Anyway here are so videos. The one showing the sudden changes in a 2 year old and the other showing how sweet she can actually be. Everyday when we wake up I think to myself "I hope this is a good day." Because when its not a good day, it is so hard. Please tell me I am not the only one with a bi-polar baby because that is what it feels like these days.

We're having an "IT"
So for those of you who know me, you know that I am not one of those people who waits until birth to find out the sex. No way man, I am all about knowing, I want to buy clothes, mentally prepare, have a name etc. But by no choice of my own I may have to wait until birth to find out. You have no idea what this is doing to me. I feel like my skin is crawling and there is this unsettling feeling inside me not being able to know. We had our ultrasound this morning, baby is healthy (and when it comes down to it that is really the most important) but I still want the sex. The ultrasound tech said it was just too hard to tell the sex of the baby because the umbilical cord was just getting in the way of everything she could see down there. So I think next time I go to the doctor I may ask "do I get another chance to find out?" Maybe he will take pity on me and do a quick sonogram or something. I don't know how people do it who don't find out.

She's 2!!
So my favorite part of this whole video is when Kenzie says "Yum, Elmo Good!"
So I know its been a while, but Makenzie turned 2 so I thought I could blog about her birthday. We decided to keep it small this year. I debated doing the whole big birthday party but then decided it would be easier to just have a few friends over. It went really well. Kenzie and I think everyone who attended had a great time. We ate cupcakes, sang happy birthday, opened presents, played with toys and talked. It was probably the greatest day of Kenzie's life. She finally got her kitchen she has been waiting so patiently for, and let me tell you it is a hit. She loves it and so do her friends. Micah and her played with it for like a half our straight yesterday. Its our new babysitter, its great.

We decided to go with a Sesame Street theme seeing as how Kenzie loves all the characters.

Lack of Pictures, Just catching up
These are just a few pictures I took of Kenzie before Church one day. I thought they were pretty cute.

This is my black bean soup loving baby. I often times leave her alone to eat while I go to the bathroom, clean up etc. Well one day I came back and found this. The funny part was that when I walked in she was so proud of herself, as if she had created some masterpiece and couldn't wait to show me. Well her masterpiece dried all over the wall and took me forever to clean off the floor boards, but I had to admire her love for creating art. Next time we'll do black bean art on paper.

The Groggy After Nap
So due to recent developments in my life, well mostly just being pregnant I find myself tired, a lot. By the time Kenzie's nap rolls around I am wasted. Then there is always the dilemma of clean my ever disgusting house, take a shower, or one of the 100 other productive things I could be doing, or... Do I take the nap? Now the nap is a funny thing to me, while in it, I feel like I am in a coma, just dead to the world. It feels good but as soon as I start to wake up, or I hear her cry, the after nap hits me. That horrible groggy so tired and even more exhausted feeling takes me over. And often times I feel worse when I wake up, but at least my body is more rested right? Then why don't I feel like it? Is there some trick that I don't know about that eliminates that terrible after nap experience? Or is this just a plague doomed to haunt the lazy and pregnant? If you have any secrets really I would love to know them. Right now I am experiencing a massive dosage of the after nap, I am just hoping it goes away before I go to sleep tonight, I am feeling it big time.

The weird things our children do
So Makenzie used to be so predictable when it came to bed time. She had a monkey and a blanket. Then the monkey turned into "Monkey and Froggy". Then it turned into "two blankets" then "three blankets." Then she started hording toys at bed time. She would see how much she could gather in her arms and then she would take it to bed with her. Lee and I haven't really protested at all because well I don't care if she wants to sleep in a crib full of toys. The other night it was her baby piano and lap top. She played her piano for about 20 minutes then fell asleep. Today for nap it was all ten finger puppets, monkey, froggy, 3 blankets, all three fabric books she owns, a pad of paper, kermit, and her magna doodle. She tried to throw a pen in there probably to go with her pad of paper, I took that out. Come on I have some limits. And she went right down, snuggling with her magna doodle and monkey. What weird things do your kids do?
I'm not going to lie, I'm tired
So pretty much since Christmas we have been fighting the plague that seems to be floating around our ward/city. I am done being sick. Done! We have all puked on 3 totally separate occasions now and the last episode ended up with me in the hospital. No more viruses for me please. NO MORE!! So after more than 24 hours of barfing and feeling like death, Doctor told me go get to Urgent Care. Thanks to a good friend who came and stayed while Kenzie slept, Lee and I took off on our adventure. One very wonderful IV, a few blood samples and a couple hours later we were able to go home. The next morning I had to go back for one more liter of fluid. Note: Don't take your toddler to the doctors with you, especially if there is a chance you have to have a liter of fluid pumped in your veins. They get pretty restless. Its taken me a few days to get back to being able to eat and feel semi normal, and I'm not going to lie, I am tired. I could really use some warm weather, and some energy. If anyone has a surplus of any of that please send it my way.
