A Day at the Farm

Makenzie and I went with our friends Brigthen and Essence to the farm this week to get into the spirit of Halloween. I think I was a little more excited than Kenzie. I kept wheeling her over the animals saying "Oh look at the pigs!" She didn't care, she barely even noticed them. If i was a baby I think I would notice how weird looking and smelly animals are. The highlight was the hey ride, we met some aliens and bunch of cut out characters.
At one point went into a "haunted barn." It wasn't scary but it sure was loud, and Kenzie hates anything loud, she got a little freaked. I think our daugther may be a scare-d-cat. That may not work out with Lee who isn't afraid of anything, and me the queen of thrill rides and Halloween.

A 6 monther in 18 monthers

Makenzie has once again outgrown all her clothes. We just outgrew the 9 month clothes so we went shopping for more clothes only to find that to our disbelief Makenzie is wearing 18 month clothes. Here she is showing off her new duds. Pictures soon to come, something is going on with our blog.

Mom's Paranoid for Winter

Ok, so it has been like 90 degrees here since May. You would think that summer ends in early September, well it is almost late October and it is still shorts weather. We had one day where it was a little chilly, I thought it was going to be really cold, and that winter had arrived. So I bundled Kenzie up, as soon as we got outside I had to take the coat off because I realized it was still warm. The blue hat was needed though, it was windy. I know she isn't a boy, but look at those eyes when she wears blue. Heart stoppers!

Suprise Party?

So for my Birthday Lee decided he wanted to throw me a suprise party. I had no idea he was even planning anything. Then one night I suggested we invite a few people over for cake and icecream. He got a little nervous and thought I was going to start planning my own party. A few nights later he came home looking a little worried and broke down and told me he had been planning a party and he didn't want me to plan one on top of his. So suprise....not anymore. It ended up being a lot of fun though. Lee's mom came up to watch Kenzie while Lee and I went to Chilli's for dinner. When we got back all our friends were waiting for me. It was pretty low key, we chilled, ate cake and icecream. Then Lee and I opened presents. I couldn't believe what he got me for my birthday. I got a whole Ipod. I confessed to Lee recently that I wanted to join the Ipod revolution, I didn't think I would actually ever have one. That was a great gift. Lee kept telling me all day, that I am half of 50 now and that I am a quarter of a century old. Another friend told me that since that was the case, I am entitled to a quarter life crisis. I may cash that in one of these days.

Keeping Makenzie Entertained

One of the joys of parenthood is keeping your little ones entertained. Makenzie is smart, she's done peakaboo, she's eaten her toys about 10 too many times, she's bounced the day away.... what more could she possibly want. Well Lee discovered something new. Naked sink time. We were getting Kenzie ready for her bath and Lee turned the sink on. Well she nearly dived in the sink to play with the water, so Lee just set her in and she is a perfect fit. The combination of the water and the mirror kept her entertained for a while, plus she looked so dang cute. Now when she won't stop crying we have one more thing we can try.

Mile Stones

Makenzie is growing bigger and bigger everyday. She already outweighs 98% of the babies her age. She is ginormous, but extremely cute. Every time we go somewhere people have something to say about her weight, and they all think she is a boy, even when she is wearing pink. She doesn't look like a boy. Lee and I are sick of people talking at her saying (in a baby voice) "Hi big boy, big boy, big boy!" Lee has starting removing her from those situations and telling her she doesn't have to listen to that.

She is wearing clothes made for 12 monthers. I just bought her a whole batch of 9 month sleepers a little while ago, she now only fits into one. She is only 5.75 months old. At this rate I will be buying clothes for 18 monthers when she is 7 months old.

She has just started sitting up on her own. She loves to play with her toys in her lap. She picks one up, eats it, picks another up, eat that one and just continues the cycle. Hours of fun. We also put her in her first pair of jeans the other day. She only wore them for about 5 minutes because they were already too small. Lee liked the way she looked.

Vienna 5K

Lee and I have been talking about running a 5k since we were married. Two years later we finally got serious. Lee, Makenzie and I all ran the Vienna 5k on Saturday. Lee ran an amazing 23 minutes, and I ran in 34 minutes. I realize that is an 11 minute mile, kind of pathetic, but I am a begginer and I was running with a stroller. We plan on running 5ks around the world. Marathons, heck no, 5ks are where its at! We are now training for a Turkey trot on Thanksgiving day. Makenzie loves to run she couldn't be happier sitting in her stroller watching us pass all those people. She loves being outside you will never hear a peep out of her as long as she is strolling.
